DirectX 10 Preview

Microsoft just released the December Version of its DirectX 9 SDK - including an early technology preview of DirectX 10! The downside is that you need Vista to run the examples, but nevertheless the documentation is very interesting. The most exciting feature is the new "geometry shader" which works on complete triangles and might even produce new triangles. Still missing is a complete programmable backbuffer (blending, stencil etc are still controlled the old way). So let's hope that OpenGL will catch up with the forthcoming DirectX release next year!
